Pop Haydn's Radio-Medicine Show is a one-hour weekly for-broadcast radio show.
It stars certifiable genius Pop Haydn, along with Professor Dave Bourne and the Medicine Show Band, Judge Nelson, Nancy Magill and guests.
The show has a variety of music and features in-studio interviews with performers, repertory comedy, and recorded music from 1900 up to 1940.
This is music that is rural, mostly Southern and Western, and generally "outdoorsy" music--the kind you would hear live at a Medicine Show.
We also feature contemporary and live music that is in that same vein, including Delta Blues, Jug Band, String Band, Dixieland, cowboy blues and swing, folk, polka and novelty Americana music.
Pop chooses the music mostly for its medicinal value (Ian Whitcomb is excellent for the spleen), and is always looking for new medicinals from the wild and unexplored places around the world.
